Nasreen Zankawah was born in Damongo, the capital of the Savannah Region of Ghana. She grew up in Tamale where she acquired her basic and junior high school education. She attended T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi and graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
She published her first novel, The President’s Bodyguard, in 2020 and her second novel, The Wild Rose, in 2022. She has also authored several poems and short stories.
She was adjudged Ghana’s 25Under25 Excelling Youth in Creative Writing and Content Creation in 2022; winner of the Creative Leadership Award at the Roundtable Global Youth Awards,2022, and was crowned the Youth in Authorship & Creative Design of the Year for the Ghana Youth Leaders Awards, 2023.
Aside writing, she loves reading, drawing, singing, and tennis.
